Can I use these scissors to cut out mats?
We don't recommend cutting tight mats out with scissors. Mats can pull the skin upwards into the coat, making it difficult to see where the hair ends and the skin begins.

Will this replace my groomer?
That's completely up to you. Some owners use the kit for face, paw and coat touch-ups between professional appointments, while others gradually learn to do much more themselves.

How do I keep the scissors sharp?
Remove loose hair after every grooming session, wipe the blades clean and dry and store the scissors inside the protective case. Add a small amount of scissor oil around the pivot occasionally to keep the movement smooth.
If they begin to feel too loose or tight, the adjustable tension screw lets you fine-tune how the blades move.

Can I also use this for my dog's nails?
No. Grooming scissors should never be used to cut nails.
For nail care, you can add our LED Nail Clipper 2-in-1. Use the clipper to carefully shorten the nail, then gently smooth sharp edges with the built-in electric file. The LED provides extra visibility while you work.
